A2 - Drawing Nature July 8-9, 2017

Open Studio:  Sat 7-9pm

Capture in Sketches and drawings the powerful drama and beauty of the landscape, utilizing a variety of drawing materials and tools. You will select and compose the image, recording the countryside, farm, waterfall, a variety of plants and flowers , and beautiful natural forms. Use a variety of drawing material such as graphite, pencils, charcoal, pastels, and mixed media. Explore and use composition techniques such as perspective, balance, focal point, movement, size, and shape. Capture the "open air" image, utilizing highlight and shadow, interesting textures, shading and the incredible moods of nature. Drawing nature will appeal to artists of all levels, beginners to painters, photographers and artists of all media. The workshop will conclude with a class exhibit, critique, and celebration.

About the Instructor: 

Roger Hyndman has engaged in artist residencies at arts organizations, colleges, and regional schools. He has partnered with the VIEW (Art Center/ Old Forge, NY), Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts, Yates County Arts Center, Mid-Hudson Teacher Center, SUNY New Paltz, Hartwick College, University of New Hampshire, Fletcher Farm School, Touchstone Center for the Arts and Crafts, Sagamore Great Camp, and the Saratoga Arts Council. He has also organized and coordinated eight trips to Italy over the past ten years. The focus has been upon the art, history, and culture of the Medieval and Renaissance periods.
