Mountains inspire awe and reverence with their beauty and majesty. Learn how to pastel paint this awesome subject expressively using proportion, color value, atmospheric perspective and more. Working from your photos, we will explore design and color concepts, application techniques and more with the goal of making our finished pastel paintings powerful, contemporary statements about our subject. Demonstrations, individual instruction and critique. All levels welcome from beginner through advanced.

About the Instructor:
Award-winning artist Robert Carsten attended the Art Students League of New York, the Rhode Island School of Design and the Accademia di Belle Arti (Italy). He is a board member and signature member of the Pastel Society of America and is a contributing writer to Pastel Journal and The Artist's Magazine. His pastel paintings have been shown in many museums and galleries and are collected worldwide. He has been featured in Pure Color/The Best of Pastel, Pastel Journal, American Art Review, The Artist's Magazine, Strokes of Genius/The Best of Drawing and Finding Your Style in Pastel.
