A2 - Digital Macro Photography with Camera, iPad or iPhone - July 6-8, 2018

Dates:  July 6-8, 2018

Class Times: Fri-Sat 9am-5pm; Sun 9am-2:30pm

Instructor:  Sonya Vickers

Open Studio:  Fri-Sat 7-9pm

This course is all about taking pictures close up of small things. Both point-and-shoot small cameras and SLR cameras with interchangeable lenses do an excellent job of getting a close look at nature. The iPhone and iPad also make interesting tools for macro. All levels of ability are covered from “I just got this camera and don’t know a thing” to “I need to expand my knowledge of my D-SLR”. I will first get you better acquainted with your camera so that you can use all of its capabilities. Then we will explore nature from bugs eyes to the center of flowers. There will even be microscopes available for a closer look. The photographs you take can either be an art form or be used for identification. NEW FOR 2017, an introduction to focus stacking will be given. Extreme macro pictures can only focus on part of the subject. Multiple pictures can be taken at several focus points and combined with software to give photographs with everything in focus. The results are eyecatching. Photo editing will be covered to make your photographs look their best. Large size prints of your best work will be furnished in an album so can start your own photo nature journal.

Material Cost:  $25
