“The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The meaning of life is to give it away. “ David Viscott. I believe every artist has a unique gift. This gift is unmistakably yours, and only you can share it with the world. How do we find it? Follow the joy. Along this courageous path our skills sharpen and our personal vocabulary grows. A distinctive style emerges. Your clear authentic voice rings true. Sing with this voice and the world will listen. In this workshop I will generously share the many practical and philosophical components that continue to influence my evolving voice. I hope you will find a golden nugget among them that can also work for you. This workshop will include instructor demonstrations, individual painting time, and group critique at day’s end. I will work in oil or watercolor. Participants in this workshop may use the medium of their choice. Depending on class direction and time available topics may include: Tools of the trade, Mechanics: Technique & Execution, Color & Value, Planning - Value Studies, Composition Fundamentals/Principles of Design, Seeing vs. Knowing, Aptitude vs. Talent, Surviving Plein Air, Art Business, marketing, framing, prints, etc.
