We will explore contemporary and traditional trends in farm landscape painting. Emphasis will be placed on light effect, atmospheric perspective, dramatic values, as well as pastel painting techniques, color and composition. Demonstrations, critiques and lots of painting time. Work from your photos. All levels from beginner through advanced welcome.

About the Instructor:
Award-winning artist Robert Carsten attended the Art Students League of New York, the Rhode Island School of Design and the Accademia di Belle Arti (Italy). He is a board member and signature member of the Pastel Society of America and is a contributing writer to Pastel Journal and The Artist's Magazine. His pastel paintings have been shown in many museums and galleries and are collected worldwide. He has been featured in Pure Color/The Best of Pastel, Pastel Journal, American Art Review, The Artist's Magazine, Strokes of Genius/The Best of Drawing and Finding Your Style in Pastel.
