People often wonder about the differences between ceramic and porcelain: Ceramic Is dense and blocks light from passing through, whereas porcelain is often translucent. Ceramic is thicker with a more sturdy appearance, porcelain is thinner with a more delicate appearance. Ceramic is too porous to be water tight without a glaze, porcelain is watertight without a glaze.
