WS22 - The Art of Fly Casting - May 19, 2018

Instructor:  Susan Balch

Whether you are just starting out or looking to gain confidence and improve your skills, Susan will teach you the basics of the art of casting and fishing with a fly rod. You will learn proper casting techniques, how to set up your fly rod outfit including some basic knots, and how to choose a fly. We will use the wide open lawn space at Fletcher Farm to practice casting (rain or shine).

About the Instructor: 

Susan Damone Balch is an accomplished quilter, fly fisher, and teacher. She discovered the art of quilting in1978. Fly fishing, nature, and other extensive fabric collection provide the insiration for Susan's original art quilts. She delights in using curves and machine techniques to create her stylized pieced pictorials. As a divergence, ahe also creates intuitive abstract pieces. Many of her quilts have been exhibited and won awards throughout the country.
