As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, our annual operating expenses are just under $60,000. Our goal for this appeal is $10,000, which will help us cover our utilities (telephone, electricity, Internet services) for the coming year. We need 100 of the people receiving this letter to send us a tax-deductible contribution of $100 or more to reach that goal ‒ will you be one of them? Of course, any contribution you can give us will be gratefully received and your donation is tax deductible.
Over the years, our operating costs have escalated and we have done our best to contain them. All the administrative staff of the school are now volunteers. They and our board are committed to maintaining our high standards for at least the next seven decades. For 71 years we have offered high-quality art and craft classes presented by renowned instructors in a lovely Vermont setting. Our craft shop provides an outlet for our members to sell their work. The Young Artists program provides scholarships for children to attend our summer craft camps to give them a firm grounding in exploring their creativity.
Here is an excerpt from a letter received from one of our Young Artists:
“Thank you for all the fun times I had in the past few years. I’m sad I won’t be able to do it next year, since I’ll be 18. I’ve enjoyed every class I have taken, especially Mr. Bosco’s jewelry class; the whole class was very kind and he was really funny. Thank you again for the fun times and scholarships.” — K. S.
We are all aware that funding for arts education has been all but eliminated from our public schools, and funding for the arts in general has been drastically cut. If you feel, as we do, that support for the arts is essential, please help support our mission to continue providing education in the arts and instruction in the crafts that sustain Vermont traditions.
You are the key to keeping the arts and crafts alive in Vermont, so please give generously to this appeal. Please keep the Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts in mind while planning your estate, as well.
Thank you for your donation.
