Class Description:
This trinket mokok is a container that is indigenous to the Northeast Woodlands Native Tribes. The bottom is squarish and the top is roundish. Sew white pine bark with spruce root that you’ll peel and prepare. Make an inner and outer rim from red willow that you’ll bend and split. Construct a lid from bark and roots. Different stitching patterns will be suggested. Wet white pine bark feels like leather. It dries feeling more like wood. All materials will be responsibly harvested by your instructor.
