In this class, students will learn how to use both needle and wet felting to make beautiful, art and other items. Projects for this class include a piece of art and a small rug. Day one will be spent creating the base of the art picture and the rug by wet felting. Students will use wool batting to create the rug base, then felt and dry it overnight for embellishment on Day two. Day two will be spent adding design and detail to both pieces by needle felting and other techniques. Students will also learn finishing and display techniques for their art.
NOTE: Tuition includes a $25 one-time registration fee. If you have already paid the fee, it will be deducted from your total before your card is charged.
Sandi Cirillo is a retired art educator who gives many different fiber workshops in the Northeast and North Carolina. The inspiration for her work focuses on the textural qualities of manmade and natural fibers, which she incorporates into her artwork. Sandi lives in Searsport, Maine where she has her studio.
