Class Description:

Come and learn this centuries old tradition where all the equipment you need for learning how to weave is provided. Learn all the basics that turn yarn into a finished piece of fabric, whether a scarf, rug, placemat or clothing. You will learn step-by-step about how to use a floor loom, how to measure a warp, dress the loom and weave a sampler of different weave patterns, yarns and colors. Students will learn how to prepare and interpret weaving drafts and plan a project of their own choice from beginning to end. We will also discuss resources that will enable you to continue weaving at home. This course is for the beginning student as well as those who know how to weave and would like a review or want to bring their own project(s). If bringing your own project, please contact the instructor.
