$100 per day, students supply their own notions and materials. Optional: Select fabrics will be for sale by the instructor. Monday-Friday, July 8-12, 2024, Attend 1 day or all 5 days. Must know how to machine sew. Beginner to advance quilters are welcome. Instruction is individualized.

Bring your current project or start a new project. Freedom Quilting Workshop will brings people who love to quilt together. Learn from like minded artists. Susan’s style allows quilters to achieve success at any level. If you are new, Susan is expert at breaking down the steps. If you are advanced, Susan specializes in helping crafters working through and understanding difficult technical pieces and removing the mind-blocks that can destabilize a project.

This is a flexible 5-day workshop. Choose the days that work best for you!

Bring your sewing machine, your selected fabrics, and notions. Let us know if you need to borrow a machine. If you are completely open, there will be an assortment of fabrics that you can purchase.

Teaching Artist Biography: Susan Damone Balch

Susan is an accomplished quilter, fly fisher and teaching artist. Her years of quilting and has led to exhibiting her award winning work throughout New England and across the country. Susan’s lover of fly fishing, nature, and and amazing imagination let’s her indulge into her extensive fabric collection to find inspiration for original art quilts. Susan teaches machine techniques such as piecing, appliqué, and quilting. Whether you are a traditional quilter or looking to push yourself to achieve more complex designs, or to work in a freeform-style, Susan can guide you through the process.
