Class Description:

These fabulous snowshoes are to be used, not just to hang on the wall of your home or cabin.  The strength and durability of the shoes is for children 5-7 years of age.  The weaving technique has a series of knots and twists that resembles the Shaker cheese basket pattern.  Discussion will be about the finishing process with a marine poly that has to be done at home and attaching the harnesses.

The real leather harnesses are made specifically for these shoes which are locally crafted snowshoes of steam bent ash (the best there is).  You will be weaving with nylon lacing that has a 2600 lb. test weight.

This class is great for someone with basket weaving experience but with the time allotted, a beginner can accomplish this project with my assistance.  Feel free to contact me for further details at Murrayhillweaving@gmail.com
