Advance registration is required for all classes.
Chip carving is a unique form of wood carving, which is fun and easy to learn. Most cuts are made with a single knife. No clamps or noisy mallets are needed. You will learn how to carve borders, grids, rosettes, numbers, and letters. You’ll also learn sharpening, patterning, finishing, and much more. Tools are provided by the instructor and may be purchased from her, if desired.
Allison Greenberg has been carving wood for 40 years. She took her first chip carving class in 2016 from Wayne Barton at the Fletcher Farm School. She has since studied with Marty Leenhouts, who teaches the only Certified Chip Carving Instructor program in the United States. She graduated from this program in May, 2017, and is currently the first and only Certified Chip Carving Instructor in New England, and a member of the New England Wood Carvers Association.
Allison is an instructor at Woodcraft in Walpole, Massachusetts. She teaches one class each month.
