Class Description:

Starting with an introduction to basic sewing, we will learn about tools and materials and how to use them to construct felt ornaments. We will then work on decorative embroidery stitches and sewing on buttons. Ready cut felt pieces, thread, needles, buttons and scissors will be provided by the instructor.

Instructor Biographer:

Denise Sokolsky is a mixed media artist with an MFA in fiber arts from UMass where she taught Basic Construction Sewing and Pattern Design courses. She had residencies at UMass Dartmouth and in Blönduós, Iceland.  Her work has been exhibited in the United States and Canada.
