2024 Marks a Transition Year for Fletcher Farm School for the Arts & Crafts, operated by the Society of Vermont Artists and Craftsmen.

We pressed pause but we are still here.
And we are making great progress.

Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to:

  • NOVEMBER 2023 – We announced the 2024 Pause that was necessary to engage in deep strategic planning and create a sustainable organization. We want to pass a thriving organization on to the next generation. An organization where anyone can access art education through learning, doing, creating, and appreciating art in the heart of the the Okemo Valley Region.
  • DECEMBER 2023 – We launched a $20,000 fundraising campaign to bring in strategic planning consultants to help guide our work in Building a Sustainable Future.
  • JANUARY 2024 – 19 caring volunteers gathered together on January 31 to identify issues and help to plan our next 12 months of work during our 2024 Pause.
  • FEBRUARY 2024 – On February 14th, we were happy to announce that we had raised $20,000 in just 83 days! This is more money that we have every raised and proved that our community believes in our mission.
  • MARCH 2024 – Our Teaching Artist’s rallied! Some of our most loved teaching artists could not stand to see us go a summer without offering some workshops, especially for our young artists. Nine of our professional teaching artists offered to teach at no cost so that all income could support our work to build a new and reimagined art community.
  • APRIL 2024 – A generous donation from Ballard-Hobart American Legion Post 36 in Ludlow, allowed us to offer need-based scholarships so any youth student could attend at a price they could afford. Coupled with your raffle ticket purchases and some youth families offering to pay more than the full price we did not turn any students away for the Summer 2024 Art Adventures Program. Ludlow and Cavendish full-time resident youth still receive their Fletcher Farm Foundation 50% subsidy applied to attending one-workshop per year.
  • MAY 2024 – We kicked-off our first session with our new strategic partners at Paper Crane Associates and Grow Meaningful. We are Reimagining what we can be.
  • JUNE 2024 – On June 1, we brought five longtime volunteers to campus to honor and thank them for wonderful years of service with a Garden Party. To show our love we created a local pollinator garden that will help sustain our beautiful campus! When some of our sculpture artists heard what we were creating they offered 3D art that would help showcase our new garden. Please stop by and enjoy our growing garden, that we hope will become a sustaining part of our campus that helps to restore and rejuvenate the land. We will be adding another raised bed in July, and a water feature that feeds our wildlife and garden beds.
  • MORE IN JUNE 2024 – Ludlow Area Rotary Foundation granted us funds to cover the art supplies for the youth Art Adventures program allowing our teaching artists to incur zero costs as they teach a variety of art experiences for two weeks in July.
  • EVEN MORE IN JUNE 2024 – We received a grant from Vermont Community Foundation to support our strategic planning work. Because of their generosity, we are able to add in focus groups to better understand how to provide art education in a meaningful way to our local community and to the community that visits us for their vacations.
  • With six months down and six months to go, we’ve accomplished a lot and still more to do. To date, we’ve raised nearly $57,000 of the $200,000 we know we can achieve by the end of 2024.

We’re still fundraising as we continue through our 2024 Pause. The funds we collect prepare us to launch our new and exciting mission and programming unveiling in October 2024.

Show us that you believe in what we are trying to accomplish by becoming a sustaining donor.

A sustaining donor commits to regular monthly payments that allow our organization to count on a consistent source of income.  This allows your team of staff and volunteers to better plan for and commit to programming and events you want to see.

Please donate today to support art and craft programming and artisan entrepreneurship.

By donating during our 2024 Pause, you are committing our reimagined mission that keeps art alive in the Okemo Valley Region. Together we will make the Fletcher Farm Campus a place where anyone and everyone can

LEARN
DO
CREATE
AND APPRECIATE
ART

Where we reimagine ourselves

  • Providing accessible, quality art education,
  • Teaching traditional and innovative techniques in a historic Vermont setting and,
  • Promoting community involvement and entrepreneurship.
